Släktet Polysiphonia (”rödslick”) är nämligen en rödalgsgrupp som förekommer mycket allmänt över hela jordklotet och innehåller ca 150 arter.

Publicerad: 2021-03-15. Polysiphonia lanosa (Vertebrata lanosa; Polysiphonia fastigiata) is a common species of the red algae often to be found growing on Ascophyllum nodosum. The genus Polysiphonia (Gr. poly — many; siphon — tube) is represented by more than 150 species, out of which about 16 species are reported from India. They grow in marine habitat and are cosmopolitan in distribution. Commonly they are found in littoral and sublittoral zones.
